In the third installment of our interview tasters for National Apprenticeship week, we speak to Andy Rayner, Head of LEAP Apprenticeships and Early Careers at Travis Perkins PLC.
Andy has worked in the construction and trade supply sector for over 30 years and has been involved in learning and development, within the Travis Perkins group for over 20 years. This includes roles ranging from Store Manager, Divisional Director, and Apprentice Levy Design Lead to his role now, as Head of Apprenticeships.
Andy has driven the evolution of LEAP (the apprentice training division of Travis Perkins) as an Employer Provider to becoming a prime provider. Including, developing the team to deliver 10 different apprenticeship standards ranging from Trade Supplier to Team Leader and Fitted Furniture Design to Operation Management with a further 32 (thirty two!) apprenticeship routes available through the Travis Perkins Group. He has also led the LEAP team into their first contracts outside of Travis Perkins delivering multiple programmes to Wickes and recently becoming the prime provider for the Builders Merchant Federation.
